Why Choose Plumbing as a Career?

Are you looking for a lucrative and fulfilling career option? Becoming a plumber could be the answer. At Illinois Plumbing Consultants, we have found there are many benefits to choosing plumbing as your career field. From excellent pay to an interesting line of work, you will find that these benefits make plumbing a career worth looking at. Here are some benefits of the job:

1.    You’ll Receive Exceptional Pay

Plumbers are highly skilled professionals that do a job others cannot. Due to their specialized knowledge, they’re paid well. In fact, this is one of the highest paid trades. A journeyman plumber can easily make between $40,000 – $60,000 average a year, and some areas of the country or some plumbers with specialties make significantly more than this.

2. You Can Earn While Training

Because of the way plumbing apprenticeships are set up, you can actually be paid while you are training to become a plumber. Even the very beginning plumbers who are just starting their apprenticeship will get paid for their work. There are few industries that are set up this way.

3. It’s A Job That Moves Around

Some people do not like the idea of sitting in the same office week in and week out. A plumber never does this. The nature of plumbing work means you will be in different buildings and locations almost every single day.You may even be called on to travel outside of your own community to work on special projects.

4. There’s Room for Growth

Plumbing is not a dead-end job. There is always room to gain more training and specialties in order to land higher-paying jobs and work. This is also an industry where technology is constantly developing, providing ample opportunities to continue education.

5. You’ll Have Job Security

As long as there are people, there will be a need for plumbers. This is one field that isn’t going to become outdated with the rise in technology. The internet or a robot simply can’t do what a good plumber can do. In addition, plumbing is a field where most homeowners are not willing to go the DIY route, because there’s simply too much that can go wrong, and those mistakes are costly.
