They work one-on-one with each student to apply the information to real-life plumbing situations. In addition to meeting plumbing apprenticeship requirements, this useful combination of classroom lecture and hands-on experience helps student know what to anticipate on the Illinois State Licensing Exam.
Fees and Materials Required for Our Plumbing Apprenticeship Program
Our plumber apprenticeship programs is one of the most affordable career training programs in the Crystal Lake, IL, area and beyond. It is just $700 per semester or $1,300 for the entire year to complete our plumbing training program. This is at least $100 less than similar programs at nearby community and technical colleges. Students also need to invest approximately $40 for an Illinois Plumbing Code book and can expect to incur fees for additional books and supplies throughout the training program.
To be licensed as a plumber apprentice, incoming students must first obtain a sponsor. Illinois Plumbing Consultants is unable to act in this role. Plumbing students also need a sponsor before they can apply for a license. We provide all licensing information to students during the first several class session.
Prepare for the State Exam with a Practice Plumbing Test
Illinois Plumbing Consultants holds periodic mock plumbing tests to help students prepare for the actual exam. It consists of 50 multiple-choice questions in the following topics:
- Cast Iron
- Copper
- Drawing
- Practical
- PVC
Students are required to provide their own tools and pre-register for the exam. We recommend waiting until the third or fourth year of the apprenticeship to complete the mock plumbing test.
